The different types of marketing

Marketing has been an integral part of life, at all times and everywhere across the world. In fact it's sort of a basic instinct or a very basic element of social life.
Direct Marketers may say that it's direct marketing that is the most popular mode of marketing. We cannot help agreeing and there are many companies- like Appco, Clover Advertising, TC World etc- that seem to be proving this with the kind of success that they register all along.
Still, there are many different kinds of marketing. Let's take a look at some of them:
Direct Marketing- Here it's all direct. It's either direct between the buyer and the seller or between the seller and a direct marketing company representing the seller. The messages about the products and all are conveyed directly to customers and there is more of a one-to-one interaction.
Online Marketing: Online marketing or internet marketing is very much in vogue these days. This in fact includes different forms of marketing like e-mail marketing, search engine marketing etc. There are many companies that work things out today with a well-orchestrated online marketing plan and set out to make the most of the online media.
Offline Marketing: This is more of conventional marketing and involves placing advertisements in papers and on the TV and also by direct ties with customers. Today companies use offline and online marketing as complementary to one another and make the most of both.
Inbound Marketing: It's usually the company that reaches out to its customers, but with Inbound marketing, it's the company is found by customers. A customer starts off with a need- the need to purchase something important. He goes out, makes inquiries and then, with the help of search engine page results, will finally find your company to be helpful. This is how inbound marketing works, with the support of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).
Outbound Marketing: This is the most common mode of marketing, as compared to inbound marketing and hence is also called traditional marketing. This involves marketing companies reaching out to their potential customers using all resources. Newsletters, billboards (hoardings), newspaper ads, television ads, telephonic calls etc are used to achieve this and efforts are made to reach out to potential customers and not merely those who are looking for a particular product.
Niche Marketing: When there is a gap for any product or a particular kind of service in a market and when a company focuses its attention on addressing that gap or niche, it's called niche marketing. This is a highly successful mode of marketing as there won't be any competitors and there would be demand too.
These are just some of the different types of marketing. There are many more like Social Media Marketing, Telemarketing, Guerrilla Marketing etc, all of which contribute greatly towards making things work for the international business community.
